The Englisches Seminar belongs to the relatively small Faculty of Arts of the Technische Universität Braunschweig. It is divided into three Departments: Abteilung für Literatur- und Kulturwissenschaft (Department of Literature and Cultural Studies), Abteilung für Englische Sprachwissenschaft (Department of Linguistics) and Abteilung für Englische Sprache und ihre Didaktik Department of the English Language and its Didactics ).

The Abteilung für Literatur- und Kulturwissenschaft is responsible for both British and American Cultural Studies. Professor Viktor Link teaches British economic and cultural history from the Renaissance to the present. He has published articles on the literary representation of the Seven Years War and the role of censorship in Britain.
