The Department of British and American Studies at Jena university has a Chair (Prof. W. G. Müller) and a strong department for English Literature ( Jochen Sander, Eva Maria Orth), but no separate professorship for Cultural Studies. Introductory courses on British Culture are taught by Wolfgang Nickel and Gordon Ross (Grundstudium), and advanced courses (Hauptstudium) are offered by Gabriele Linke, who is currently completing her second thesis (Habilitation) in Comparative Cultural Studies (British/American).
